MFW: Street Style Inspo
As Milan Fashion Week comes to an end, and the street stylers, and editors make their way to Paris for the next instalment of fashion inspiration from the runways. Before we do that we must mention the street-style set who were out in full force sporting some fine accessories on the streets of Milan.
Putting your hair in bun has often been linked to lazy days. But not any more! If you get the bun right, in true ballerina style, and you are wearing the right sort of outfit then nothing looks as chic and polished. Not all of us are capable of doing such a perfect bun so we’ve come up with a trick you will love. Tie a scarf around and over said bun and let the ends loosely hang below.
We have seen the resurgence of anything to do with the 90s, especially accessories, from backpacks to platform trainers, to scrunchies and rubber bracelets. They have all been embraced with open arms. But Milan went the whole hog and brough square-toe heels back to our attention. Cher Harowitz sported these in 90s flick, Clueless. If it’s good enough for Cher it’s good enough for me.
There was a simpler time when belts were just belts. back before the belt bag was a thing and the bum bag was only worn by middle aged men on their holiday. The amount of belt bags on offer now is quite astounding. but we’re not complaining. The perfect fancy flourish to wear with legging shorts, LBDs or high-waisted mom jeans.
Girly bags have had a new-season reboot, too. May we introduce the tiny but mighty chain-handled edition. The mock-croc finish and neat silhouette remains, while the playful gold handle makes it the perfect tonal partner to all that animal print you’ve been carefully acquiring recently.
