5 ‘Going Out’ Outfits for the More Mature Lady

Remember galavanting through town in the shortest, leather mini skirt, those days are gone but that doesn’t mean you’ll never go out on a night out with the ladies again. You older but you’re not a fossil. Instead of a bottle of grey goose it might be a bottle of wine but who cares. Any see through shearing fabrics will be elevated to silk shirt blouses and jumpsuits! We have devised a list of ways you can evolve your  going out look so you don’t look like mutton, dressed as lamb.

The Trusty Jeans and Going Out Top

A going out top was your weapon of choice as a youngster. The key is to go for a top with more fabric than the top you wore when you was 21. more coverage is better and we’d start by incorporating some ruffles or frills. Opt for a bright colour to capture the essence of Spring.

Mom Jeans Topped with a Robe

This is the look you’d expect to see someone wearing in front of the fire, it is, but elevated to all new sorts of levels. Loungewear that can be worn as a jacket, elevated with amazing accessories, a tote bag and moccasins. I love the pyjama look and there’s no sign of this trend going anywhere soon.

The LBJ

A jumpsuit is the counterpart to the LBD. Don’t get me wrong there are some amazing LDBs on offer not matter your age but the jumpsuit gives you that extra comfort factor. As neon is set to be huge this Spring/Summer don’t hold back. Neon yellow is our preference but any neon hue will go down a treat.

A Statement Skirt with a Chunky Knit Jumper

A chunky knit jumper might seem an odd choice for a night out but trust us, get the right shape and you’ll be the best dressed in the room.
